Venus Williams Honoured with New Barbie Doll

Venus Williams, the renowned tennis champion and advocate for gender equality, has been honoured with a new Barbie doll as part of Barbie's Inspiring Women collection. The doll, released on August 15, 2025, pays tribute to Williams' historic fight for equal pay in tennis and her role as a trailblazer in sports.

The doll is modeled after the uniform Williams wore during her 2007 Wimbledon victory. It features an all-white outfit, complete with a green gem necklace, wristband, racket, and tennis ball. This design symbolizes both Williams' athletic achievements and her role as a champion for gender equality.

The suggested retail price for the doll is $38, and it was made available at Mattel Shop and major retailers on August 15. Early access was granted to Barbie Club 59 members a day earlier. This release marks the second Barbie doll for Williams in two years, following a 2024 edition that celebrated nine trailblazing female athletes in honour of Barbie’s 65th anniversary.

Williams' win at Wimbledon in 2007 was a significant milestone, as it was the first time a woman received equal prize money as men at a top-level tournament. This achievement is commemorated in the design of the doll, making it a fitting tribute to Williams' groundbreaking career.

This new Barbie doll is not the first for Williams; she had another doll released in May 2024. However, it does not appear to have any new features or differences from the previous one. The doll continues to represent Williams as one of the trailblazing female athletes highlighted in Barbie's Inspiring Women collection.

Barbie's 65th anniversary celebration serves as the perfect occasion for this release, as it underscores the company's mission to inspire limitless possibilities and highlight brave role models. The new Venus Williams Barbie doll is a testament to Williams' enduring impact and influence, both on and off the tennis court.
