Access Bank, a leading financial institution, has announced its headline sponsorship of Ghana's Division One League (DOL), marking a milestone in the country's football landscape. On Tuesday, the managing director of Access Bank Ghana PLC, Mr. Olumide Olatunji, commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their commitment and investment in the game's development.

This partnership comes as Access Bank pledges a US$250,000 sponsorship for the 2022/2023 season. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the GFA Secretariat, attended by GFA president Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, GFA General-Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, and members of the Division One League Board, among others.

Mr. Olatunji acknowledged the GFA's instrumental role in nurturing football talents in Ghana, citing renowned stars such as Abedi 'Pele' Ayew, Tony Yeboah, Michael Essien, and Asamoah Gyan as examples. He expressed Access Bank's enthusiasm to collaborate closely with the GFA to foster talent, provide an optimal environment for growth, and help compete internationally.

The bank values the GFA's 'BringbacktheLove' initiative and believes its partnership will contribute to elevating the league to an internationally recognized standard, resulting in pride and recognition for all parties involved.The partnership aligns with Access Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility, demonstrating its commitment towards sports development in Ghana.

The Division One League, a key tier in Ghanaian football, serves as a stepping stone for teams aspiring to reach the Ghana Premier League.
