Bangladesh strengthens cooperation with Nepal in shared fields of interest.

In a show of solidarity and friendship, leaders from Bangladesh have extended their congratulations and well wishes to the government and people of Nepal on the occasion of the country's National Day (Constitution Day).

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, in separate messages, expressed their warm greetings to Nepal's government and people. Shahabuddin, in his message, emphasised the value Bangladesh places on its relationship with Nepal, while Yunus reaffirmed the close and enduring friendly relations between the two countries.

Yunus's message to interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki was on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, and he expressed confidence that under Karki's stewardship, the resilient people of Nepal will continue to progress on the path of peace, development, and stability. Shahabuddin, in his message to President Ramchandra Paudel, also conveyed his sentiments on behalf of the Bangladeshi government and people.

Paudel, in his Constitution Day message, hailed Nepal's Constitution as a unifying force for the country's diverse communities, ending decades of discrimination under a centralised state. He also emphasised the charter's vision of an egalitarian society rooted in social justice and a socialism-oriented economy.

The National Day/Constitution Day of Nepal was hosted by the President of Nepal at the Rastrapati Bhaban (Shitol Niwas). The event was attended by the Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal, Md Shafiqur Rahman, who was present to represent Bangladesh at the occasion.

In his address, President Paudel called on citizens to remain united to achieve sustainable peace, good governance, development, and prosperity through the federal democratic republic system. He wished good health, long life, and happiness for the people of Nepal, and continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the nation.

Shahabuddin, too, wished good health, long life, and happiness for the people of Nepal, and expressed his confidence that the friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Nepal will continue to deepen and flourish. Yunus, in his message to Karki, also wished good health and personal well-being for the Nepalese leader.

The messages of goodwill from Bangladesh to Nepal serve as a testament to the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries. As both nations continue to progress and develop, it is hoped that these bonds will only strengthen and grow in the years to come.
