A Danish delegation recently visited Bangladesh to boost cooperation in the dairy sector, focusing on improving food safety, productivity, and the fight against antimicrobial resistance. During their stay, officials inspected a decades-old milk scale with an unusual history.
The delegation toured Tangail to examine the entire dairy value chain, observing livestock management, milk processing, and preservation techniques. A key stop was a milk chilling centre, where cold chain maintenance and equipment were reviewed.
The delegation’s findings will help shape future collaboration in dairy safety and efficiency. Bangladesh and Denmark plan to expand joint efforts in training, technology, and regulatory standards. The historic Avery scale remains a symbol of international cooperation in the sector.
