Megadeth Announces Final Album and Global Farewell Tour

Renowned metal band Megadeth has officially announced that they will release their final studio album in 2026, followed by a global farewell tour scheduled for the same year. This marks the end of an era for one of metal's most enduring and influential bands.

The announcement came in August 2025, with lead vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine publicly confirming the band’s plans. Prior to the announcement, Megadeth teased their farewell with a dramatic video featuring apocalyptic imagery and their mascot, Vic Rattlehead, signaling the end is near.

The band’s current lineup includes Dave Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar), James LoMenzo (bass), and Dirk Verbeuren (drums). While the specific farewell tour dates and ticket prices have not yet been disclosed, the initial tour dates are expected to be announced later in 2025.

Dave Mustaine, founder of Megadeth, has expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support throughout his career. He stated that he is retiring on his own terms and at the height of his career. The last Megadeth album will be released via Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft label in collaboration with the Frontiers label group.

The first single from the final Megadeth album is expected to be released this fall. Dave Mustaine has also hinted at more details about his new autobiography being revealed in the coming months. Fans can register on the homepage to gain exclusive access to information about the final album.
