Band Immerersion unveils upcoming album titled 'WTF??', shares first single 'Use It Don't Lose It'
Electronic duo Immersion, comprised of Colin Newman (of Wire) and Malka Spigel (of Minimal Compact), have announced a new album titled "WTF??", scheduled for release on September 26, 2025. The album will be released via their own label, ~swim.
"WTF??" features eight tracks—four instrumentals and four vocal songs—with a lead single titled "Use It Don’t Lose It," released on July 28, 2025. The single expresses a direct, chant-like message reflecting a response to global instability and divided times.
The album aims to blend unease with hope through minimal yet melodic electronic music. The project initially focused on instrumental ambient and electronic experiments but evolved into a consistent outlet for the duo's collaborative explorations in minimalism, groove-based electronica, and audiovisual work.
Immersion's work in 2025 is described as a reaction to contemporary global and human challenges, moving from their recent collaborative "Nanocluster" project to a more direct confrontation of the fractured state of humanity using music as message and medium.
The lead single from the album is titled "Use It Don’t Lose It" and is available now on all major streaming platforms. A video for the song has been created by the band alongside Ben Newman.
