Balingen Handball Club Bids Farewell to Long-time Coach Bürkle

In a tough call, Handball Bundesliga team HBW Balingen-Weilstetten announced that they would part ways with their esteemed coach, Jens Bürkle, as the season comes to an end on June 30, 2024. "This decision was not easy for any of us," affirmed club CEO Felix König in a recent statement. Over the past few years, Bürkle played a significant role in shaping the club's identity, but the management identified the need for change.

Despite thePromoted team's current struggles, as they sit at the bottom of the league table, the team is committed to striving its hardest to secure their place in the league by the season's end. "We will give our all to achieve this common goal," pledged CEO König.

Bürkle joined the Balingen squad as a player in 2017 and subsequently took on the coaching mantle. Even after extending his contract until June 30, 2025, with a mutual termination clause, the club has now exercised this option.
