Bagel chain sues rival over ‘Call Your’ name and branding clash

A legal dispute has erupted between two bagel shops over their similar names and branding. Legal Zoom Corp., a growing chain, has taken action against Call Your Bubbi, a smaller competitor, for alleged trademark infringement. The case centres on claims of consumer confusion due to overlapping logos and themes.

Call Your Mother was established in 2018 and now operates 18 locations across Washington D.C., Colorado, and plans to expand into Florida. Earlier this year, the company secured a strategic investment from Invus, boosting its growth.

The lawsuit now moves through the legal system, with Call Your Mother seeking to protect its brand identity. Call Your Bubbi has yet to publicly address the claims. The outcome will determine whether the smaller shop must rebrand or alter its marketing.
