Bafta Awards: 'One Battle After Another' Wins Best Film - Baftas 2025: One Battle After Another Sweeps Awards in a Night of Cinematic Triumphs
The British Film Awards (Baftas) celebrated its winners in a star-studded ceremony last night. Hollywood icons like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Kate Hudson, and Emma Stone graced the red carpet, while Prince William and Princess Kate also attended the gala. The night's biggest winner was One Battle After Another, which took home six major prizes.
Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another dominated the awards, securing Best Film, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Sean Penn also won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the same film.
Robert Aramayo had a standout night, winning both Best Actor for I Swear and the Rising Star Award. His victory came over strong competition, including Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film I Swear has already made an impact beyond awards season—its portrayal of a Scottish Tourette syndrome activist, played by John Davidson, has raised public awareness and sparked national discussions.
Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her role in Hamnet, which also won Outstanding British Film. The monster movie Frankenstein claimed three trophies, while the Norwegian drama Sentimental Value took Best Non-English Language Film.
The Baftas recognised a mix of blockbusters, indie films, and international cinema. One Battle After Another led the wins, but I Swear and Hamnet also left their mark. The ceremony highlighted both established stars and rising talent in this year's film industry.
