Sheriff faces lawsuit from Backstreet Boys - Backstreet Boys Member Files Lawsuit Against the Sheriff

In a surprising turn of events, Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell has taken legal action against the Walton County Sheriff's Office in Florida. The lawsuit, filed by Littrell's company, BLB Beach Hut, on June 19, alleges that the sheriff's office has repeatedly failed to enforce property rights on Littrell's private beach.

The lawsuit states that Littrell and his family have taken several measures to protect their property, including placing "no trespassing" signs, furniture, and umbrellas to mark their beach section. However, despite these efforts, strangers continue to enter the property, deliberately provoking the family and disregarding their safety and property.

The lawsuit accuses the Walton County Sheriff's Office of failing to act against trespassers, despite having a signed "Trespass Authorization Form" that allows police to act on behalf of the owners against trespassing. This form, it seems, was not enforced.

Littrell speaks of repeated incidents of harassment, intimidation, and bullying, and he is now seeking a court order to compel the department to fulfill its legal obligations. The "Entertainment Weekly" obtained the lawsuit, which also mentions incidents of deliberate provocation and disregard for the family's safety and property.

Initially, the Littrell family relied on a private security service, but later turned to the Walton County Sheriff's Office for support. However, their calls for help were allegedly ignored, with one instance involving an employee of Littrell's being ignored by the dispatch when reporting bodily harm and theft. In another case, an officer recorded on bodycam dismissed Littrell's concerns as "crazy."

The Walton County Sheriff's Office has declined to comment on the pending litigation, emphasising its commitment to handling situations with professionalism and a customer service approach. Littrell, on the other hand, accuses the sheriff's office of openly defying requests for assistance and failing to protect his constitutionally protected property rights.

The lawsuit describes a lack of action from the Walton County Sheriff's Office in response to calls for help, including an incident on June 5 when an alleged trespasser stole legal documents, scattering them across the beach. Despite multiple calls to the sheriff's office, no officers were sent.

This lawsuit underscores the ongoing struggle faced by many homeowners who find themselves dealing with trespassing issues on their private property. As the case progresses, it will be interesting to see how the Walton County Sheriff's Office responds and whether they will take action to address the concerns raised by Brian Littrell and his family.
