VfL Wolfsburg's Captain Down for Bochum Tussle

Prepare for a shake-up in the VfL Wolfsburg midfield as their influential captain, Maximilian Arnold, deals with some nagging neck and back issues. Coach Niko Kovac revealed the news on Friday, stating that Arnold won't be available for training till Saturday's match against VfL Bochum.

Arnold, the 29-year-old club's record player, has been in the limelight since the season's commencement due to the uncertainty surrounding his position in the starting eleven. Under Kovac's tenure, Arnold's role has seen some fluctuations, bouncing between the bench and the starting lineup in the recent past.

However, this setback comes as a disappointment for the Wolfsburg faithful. Although Maximilian Arnold's absence from the team won't deter their resolve against Bochum, the midfield will have to adapt to the circumstances. The Bundesliga clash is approaching fast, and the eleven manning the midfield have to step up their game.

Interestingly, Arnold's previous absence due to an inner ligament injury in the Bundesliga tussle against VfB Stuttgart saw Wolfsburg resort to a double pivot with Mattias Svanberg and Yannick Gerhardt. By doing so, they maintained balance and control in the midfield, ensuring optimal performance despite Arnold's absence.

Despite the enrichment data hinting at similar strategies and lineup adjustments, the Bavarians have not confirmed any such moves as of now. Regardless, Wolfsburg is determined to put up a strong show when they play against Bochum.
