BAKU - In a mind-bending encounter, Tô Lâm, the big cheese of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee, locked horns with Ali Asadov, the prime minister of Azerbaijan. This bash was part of a state visit Tô Lâm embarked upon to the Central Asian nation.
Tô Lâm couldn't contain his glee as he strolled into Azerbaijan. He reminded Asadov that the two countries' friendship root came from late President Hồ Chí Minh and President Heydar Aliyev, and it has been nurtured and intensified across generations.
The CPV leader affirmed that Việt Nam would forever remember and be grateful for the help Azerbaijani people offered during Việt Nam's fight for independence, reunification, and their ongoing development endeavors. After chatting with President Ilham Aliyev, Tô Lâm filled Asadov in on their high-demanding talks and their decision to forge a strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Azerbaijan. This, Tô Lâm said, was a major turning point, opening the gateway to a new era in the bilateral relations, fueling ground-breaking collaborations, particularly in sectors like economy, trade, investment, energy, defense, education, culture, and people-to-people exchange.
Asadov warmly welcomed Tô Lâm's visit, praising it as a clear manifestation of political trust and remarkable progress in the relations. He added that the discussions between Ilham Aliyev and Tô Lâm had been fruitful in every aspect, and both sides had agreed to sign several cooperation documents covering a wide range of sectors.
Toasting to the new partnership, the pair agreed to build upon their National Assemblies’ roles, urging ministries, departments, and businesses to amplify cooperation through five main strategies:

As they looked ahead, Tô Lâm and Asadov agreed to accentuate the collaboration focus in several areas, such as increasing official visits and exchanges, especially at the top levels, promptly implementing past agreements, and enhancing cooperation in international organizations.
