Ayuso vs Pradales: Madrid President Accuses Basque Politician of Threats

Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Madrid region, has sparked controversy by accusing Imanol Pradales, a Basque politician, of making threatening remarks. Ayuso claimed Pradales said 'entzun, pim, pam, pum' to her, but he denies this and has slammed her for misrepresenting his words.

Pradales, a member of the Basque Nationalist Party, actually said: 'Ayuso, entzun, Euskadi euskaldun'. This translates to 'Ayuso, listen, Euskadi is Basque'. He was expressing his view on the Basque identity, not making threats. Ayuso, however, interpreted his words differently and accused him of using an expression associated with ETA, a former armed separatist group.

Pradales has strongly rejected Ayuso's interpretation. He finds her reaction 'outrageous and unacceptable' for twisting his words and accusing him of threats. He maintains he did not use the same expression as ETA's surroundings and only used the Basque verb 'entzun' (listen). There's no record of Pradales being threatened in this manner before.

The incident has raised tensions between Ayuso and Pradales, with each side maintaining their stance. Ayuso's office has not provided further comment, while Pradales has called for Ayuso to retract her accusations and apologize.
