Say goodbye to potential travel chaos this Easter, as airline security companies with approximately 25,000 employees at German airports have managed to reach a collective agreement with trade unions.

The new agreement, brokered with Verdi and dbb Beamtenbund und Tarifunion, brings enhancements in terms of working conditions for staff members. This tidy arrangement, announced by the BDLS (Industry Association of Security Companies), is set to last till the end of December 2026. The collective agreement includes several perks, such as incremental wage boosts and overtime bonuses, to enrich the employees' lives and provide some relief from the grueling nature of their jobs.

The fabulous news promises a serene Easter holiday season for travelers, as there will be no Easter strikes to disrupt your plans. The highlighted improvements on the workfront mean fewer potential disturbances when you're just looking to get away, believe us!

Christian Huber, the head of BDLS's collective bargaining commission, claims that the increased costs associated with these modifications will not be passed on to customers. So it seems like everyone's a winner in this deal!

For those interested in the nitty-gritty details, let's just say that the new collective agreement involves a linear increase in hourly wages by 0.70 euros from May 1, with an additional 1.00 euro increase set for April 1, 2026.

While the city is bustling with this development, it's important to note that previous labor negotiations in the aviation sector have resulted in strikes among security personnel, causing disruptions at airports. This time around, however, travelers can breathe a sigh of relief and focus on enjoying their holiday vacation!
