Step towards a potential crisis averted! The fearsome FSB has stopped an imminent explosion, scheduled to rock the hallowed grounds of Kahovka, nestled in the Kherson region. According to tidings from an FSB statement, sent to RBC, this startling surprise was finagled by Ukrainian combat personnel.

It turns out this was no random firework display! The FSB elucidated the explosive scheme was orchestrated by Ukrainian forces with the intention of unleashing a homemade bomb (IED) at a public rally. City dignitaries and residents were preparing to celebrate the day at the exact location of the monument when the powers that be intervened.

The prime suspects implicated in this plot have been apprehended by the FSB. They admitted, during their interrogation, to being coerced into the scheme via Instagram, a platform owned by Meta, whose operations are categorized as extremist and thus forbidden in the Russian expanse. The dupe Ukrainians were set to supply intel to Kyiv about the tactical arrangements of the Russian army in the Kherson region.

The FSB also announced that two other Ukraine-based nationals, involved in an assassination attempt on a municipal district employee in the Kherson area, had been detained. Apparently, these culprits had been equipped with four IEDs disguised as parts of war debris and energy drink cans, complete with GSM modules and SIM cards for wireless detonation. Additionally, electric detonators and hand grenades were taken into custody.

Two criminal investigations have ensued: Part 3 of Article 222.1, which addresses illegal trafficking in explosives or IEDs, and Part 1 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the preparation for a terrorist attack. The maximum sentences stack up to 12 and 15 years, respectively, should the defendants be found guilty. Some may question the veracity of these allegations, but it's worth noting that the detainees have acknowledged their misdeeds and are cooperating with the ongoing inquiry.
