Avalanche warnings issued for Magadan Oblast’s high-risk slopes this December

Avalanche warnings have been issued for parts of Magadan Oblast, with high-risk conditions expected over the next two days. The alert covers specific areas, including slopes near Magadan and several municipal districts. Authorities are urging residents and travellers to take precautions as heavy snowfall raises the danger level.

The first warning began at 10:00 AM on December 9 near Magadan, particularly around Marchekanskaya Sopka. This high-risk period will last until 8:00 PM on December 10. The threat then shifts to Khasynsky, Omsukchansky, and the southern section of Tenkinsky municipal districts from 4:00 PM on December 10 to 8:00 PM the following day.

The warnings cover specific times and locations, with no broader restrictions on urban areas in Magadan Oblast. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise caution in all marked high-risk zones. Residents and visitors should follow updates and avoid unnecessary travel in affected regions until the alerts expire.
