Residents of the Omsk region in Western Siberia are bracing for severe weather conditions this week. The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia has reported the onset of rain and cool air in the region.
On Thursday, August 7, brief showers, occasionally with thunderstorms, are expected in the Omsk region, with daytime temperatures ranging from +16 to +21 degrees. The nighttime temperatures will range from +7 to +12 degrees. The region may also see brief showers on Friday.
On Friday, August 8, the Black Sky Warning is in effect for the Omsk region. This warning indicates a high risk of severe weather, typically due to extremely high levels of air pollutants and hazardous atmospheric conditions. The Omsk region is expected to experience brief showers and possibly thunderstorms. The cause of the Black Sky Warning in Omsk is related to severe air pollution, a chronic issue in similar Siberian cities.
Meanwhile, in the south of Western Siberia, daytime temperatures will range from +19 to +24 degrees on Friday. However, wind gusts up to 14 m/s are expected in the region, potentially causing strong winds. On Friday, brief showers, possibly with thunderstorms, are expected in the south of Western Siberia, from Novosibirsk to the foothills of the Altai. Nighttime temperatures will range from +7 to +12 degrees.
In the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions, daytime temperatures on Thursday will range from +14 to +20 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will range from +6 to +11 degrees. On Thursday, brief showers, occasionally with thunderstorms, are expected in these regions as well.
Cyclones from northern Kazakhstan are bringing rain to the south of Western Siberia, contributing to the cooler temperatures and showers. The weather in the region is expected to continue to be unpredictable, with residents advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
