Autumn Fair by the Rhine Kicks Off with Attractions, Food, and Fireworks
The autumn fair by the Rhine has kicked off in style, offering a variety of attractions, culinary delights, and special events until October 31. The fair began on Thursday, October 24, at 3 PM and promises a week of fun for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy numerous attractions, such as the iconic Ferris wheel, the XXL swing ride 'Air Power' that accommodates 16 guests at a time, and the multi-floor skill-testing attraction 'Action House'. Food and drink options include Schumacher and Schluessel beers at 3.50 EUR per 0.25 L glass in the beer garden, and mulled wine, which is served weather permitting.
The fair is open from 3 PM on weekdays and 1 PM on weekends, staying open until at least 10 PM. On Friday, October 25, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky around 9:30 PM. The opening ceremony on October 24 saw local cultural institutions, municipal authorities, and sponsoring art associations come together to celebrate the event's launch. On Tuesday, October 29, Marvel Avengers heroes will be present from 4 to 7 PM for photos and autographs, much to the delight of comic book fans.
With 35 exhibitors in total, the autumn fair offers plenty to see and do. Despite some weather-related losses, Oliver Wilmering, head of Düsseldorf exhibitors, is satisfied with the fair season. On Halloween night, visitors are encouraged to come in costume for free rides, making for a spooktacular end to the fair on October 31, which will close early due to the public holiday on November 1 and the subsequent fish market on November 3.
