Autoproff launches blind-bid auctions to meet demand for younger used cars
Autoproff, a platform majority-owned by the Autoscout24 Group, is rolling out blind-bid auctions for car dealers. The move responds to growing demand for younger used cars, particularly models up to five years old. Last year alone, the company handled up to 150,000 transactions through its platform.
The new auction system lets dealers submit a single offer per car without seeing rival bids. Buyers receive confirmation within three hours if their bid succeeds.
The blind-bid system operates within Autoproff’s existing sales process. Each used car undergoes a professional condition report before listing. Cross-border delivery remains available for successful bidders.
Kenneth Vestergaard, Chief Commercial Officer for the Nordics at Autoproff, described the auctions as designed for professional buyers. The format aims to streamline transactions while meeting demand for younger used cars. Alongside the new auction model, Autoproff plans to expand its procurement network. The company has secured deeper partnerships with suppliers in key markets. These agreements will bring thousands of additional used cars to the marketplace each year, including roughly 20,000 younger models annually.
Autoproff’s blind-bid auctions launch as demand for younger used cars rises. The system offers dealers a faster way to secure stock, with decisions made within hours. Meanwhile, expanded supplier partnerships will increase the number of available used cars, including around 20,000 additional younger models annually.
