Hey there, puck heads! Let's talk about the latest move in the KHL - Reid Boucher, one of the league's fiery forwards, signing a contract with the Ice Hockey Club "Avtomobilist" for a single season.
Known for his blazing scorers' touch, Boucher, a 31-year-old American, has had quite the Russian adventure since moving to the land of borscht and balalaikas in 2020. First, he lit up the ice with Omsk's "Avangard" team, securing the Gagarin Cup in his first KHL season. In that competition, he bagged an impressive 65 points, netting 32 goals, and aiding 33 more, racking up 17 points in the playoffs. His extraordinary performance earned him the title of the tournament's best forward!
After a 2021/22 spell with Yaroslavl "Lokomotiv," Boucher returned to "Avangard" for three seasons before trading rinks for a new challenge with "Avtomobilist."
Fast forward to the 2023/24 KHL regular season, and Boucher proved he's the top sniper of the tournament, lighting the lamp a whopping 44 times in 64 games! Last year, he continued to shine for "Avangard," scoring a stellar 57 points, making him the team's top scorer.
So far, Boucher can boast playing 337 games in the KHL, with an average of almost one point per game. His impressive stats stand at 308 points — 170 goals and 138 assists, boasting a +50 plus-minus rating.
