Authorities storm the residence of performer D4vd following the discovery of a dismembered adolescent girl's remains in his vehicle.
In a shocking turn of events, police authorities in California are investigating popular singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, in connection with the disappearance and death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The investigation began shortly after Hernandez went missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, California, in early 2025. Her last sighting was at 9 pm on April 5, 2024.
The break in the case came earlier this month when a decomposed body was found in a carpark. The remains were later confirmed to be those of Hernandez. The body parts found were a head and torso, which were found in a plastic bag in the front trunk of a car.
The car in question belongs to D4vd and was impounded after it was discovered abandoned. Surprisingly, the car was not reported stolen, and it is registered to D4vd.
Police were called to a compound located on North Mansfield Avenue after a passer-by detected a 'foul odour coming from a vehicle.' The search involved the use of luminol to locate traces of blood.
D4vd, who was born in Queens, New York but later moved to Houston, Texas, has confirmed he is 'fully cooperating' with authorities following the discovery of the body, but has not been charged.
Hernandez was described as having wavy black hair and weighing about 71 pounds. She was last seen wearing gray pants, a black sweater, a hat, and Hello Kitty sandals.
Authorities are seeking digital devices that could have security recordings that might connect a missing teen to the location. Several pieces of evidence, including a computer, were recovered during the search of D4vd's rented property in Hollywood Hills.
The Los Angeles home of the singer was also raided by police. Photos show that D4vd also has a tattoo on his right index finger that reads 'Shhh.' TMZ reported that Hernandez's mother identified the police description, which includes a tattoo on her finger with the letters 'Shhh...', as matching her daughter's.
D4vd rose to stardom following the release of breakout singles 'Romantic Homicide' and 'Here With Me.' His concerts in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle have been cancelled due to questions regarding his connection to the missing teen.
A fundraiser has been set up following her death, describing Hernandez as a 'beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.' The family is seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds donated are greatly appreciated.
A cause of death for Hernandez has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released as the case progresses.
