Authorities on the hunt for multiple gunmen responsible for the murder of three individuals and the wounding of eight more following a nighttime argument at a Brooklyn bar.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a tragic shooting incident occurred at the Taste of the City Lounge in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood.
According to the New York City Police Department, the shooting stemmed from a dispute inside the club. By the time authorities arrived at the scene, 11 gunshot victims had been found, three of whom did not survive their injuries.
The victims' ages ranged from 27 to 61. The three deceased individuals were identified as Marvin St. Louis, 19, Jamel Childs, 32, and an innocent bystander, Amadou Diallo, 27.
Police believe multiple shooters were involved in the incident, and as of Sunday morning, no suspects are in custody. The authorities have identified four shooters in total, with two of them, St. Louis and Childs, being killed during the incident. The other two shooters remain at large.
Detectives found at least 36 shell casings at the scene, suggesting a chaotic and violent episode. The conditions of the remaining victims, taken to area hospitals, were unknown early Sunday morning.
The New York City Police Commissioner, Jessica Tisch, held a news conference regarding the shooting early Sunday morning. She emphasised that the incident is still under investigation and urged anyone with information to come forward.
It is believed that the shooting was gang-related, with one shooter connected to the Folk Nation gang. The police are actively searching for the remaining suspects to bring them to justice.
