Authorities in Uttarakhand claim no alcohol is being distributed under the brand 'Trikal'.
STATEMENT REFUTES RUMORS OF 'TRIKAL' LIQUOR SALE IN UTTARAKHAND
In a clarification, the Uttarakhand government has discredited rumors that the liquor brand 'Trikal' is being retailed in the state. The Excise Commissioner, Harichandra Semwal, stated that there has been no approval for the manufacture or sale of the brand 'Trikal' in Uttarakhand.
The excise department is taking legal action against the dissemination of misleading information regarding 'Trikal' liquor and urges the public not to fall prey to such unfounded rumors.
The controversy surrounding 'Trikal' originated due to religious connotations in the brand's name. The company manufacturing the product, Radico Khaitan, withdrew it out of respect for public sentiments and the objections raised against the name.
According to the Uttarakhand Excise Commissioner's statement, any claims asserting 'Trikal' liquor's availability in the state are baseless and should be ignored.
