Authorities in the Vologda region have declared the disbandment of the network "Red and White"

In the Vologda region of Russia, the co-owner of the "Red & White" network, Sergey Studennikov, has denied reports about the company's closure. This denial comes after the premature revocation of the company's license by the licensing authority on July 25, 2023.

The revocation has led to the closure of 58 stores, primarily in Vologda and Cherepovets, resulting in job losses for residents. The specific violations that led to the revocation have not been specified.

The Vologda region has seen a decrease in the number of alcohol stores since the introduction of restrictions. According to regional law, alcohol cannot be purchased on certain public holidays, including Youth Day, National Sobriety Day, and Unity Day. Additionally, alcohol sales are allowed only during specific hours, with weekday sales permitted from 12:00 to 14:00, and weekend sales from 08:00 to 23:00.

In response to the job losses, the regional head, Georgy Filimonov, has offered assistance to job seekers in finding new employment opportunities. He has also encouraged entrepreneurs to prioritize businesses in the catering sector. Under the governor's "5:3:3" program, entrepreneurs can receive preferential loans of up to 5 million rubles for three years at 3% per annum to reorganize into catering points.

Filimonov has also suggested that the owners of the closed "Red & White" stores act responsibly regarding rent matters. He has stated that the license for the retail sale of alcohol was revoked due to violations committed by the network.

Despite the challenges, Filimonov remains optimistic, assuring that he is ready to help each person find suitable job options based on their preferences and the current job market offerings. He encourages the owners of the closed stores to seize this opportunity to reconsider their businesses and potentially take advantage of the governor's support programs.

  1. The revocation of "Red & White" network's license has led to a surge of general-news stories, with politics and crime-and-justice sections discussing the impact on the Vologda region's society.
  2. In light of the closure of 58 "Red & White" stores in the Vologda region, the regional head, Georgy Filimonov, has emphasized the importance of supporting businesses in the less controversial catering sector, as a shift away from politics and alcohol may foster a more stable society.
