Johann Wadephul, Germany's Foreign Minister, has been tackling two wars since his tenure began - one being the conflict between Israel and Iran. Reflecting on Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip, Wadephul acknowledges the desperate humanitarian situation there, with basic supplies like food and medicine blocked, due to Israel's need to combat Hamas terrorists. Despite this, Wadephul emphasizes that Israel, even when fighting terrorist organizations, must be judged by different standards because it upholds a democratic rule of law.
Germany, as a key ally of Israel, stands with it in the face of the Iranian threat, yet Wadephul doesn't hesitate to criticize Israel's policies when necessary. Wadephul demands the disarmament of Hamas and the release of hostages, despite the tragic situation in Gaza. "Human lives are equal at the end of the day," he concludes.
