It's a wild ride, mate! Over the past 26 days, the cops in Almaty region have been cracking down on civilians and service gun owners who are slacking on their storage game. This intense operation, called "Qaru," is aimed at keeping those firearms secure and out of the wrong hands.

Now, you might be wondering why they're being so nitpicky. Well, it's all about preventing thefts, losses, and any crimes that could potentially go down with those weapons.

Out of the 26,320 gun-toting folks in the region, over 24,000 have been checked so far. That's a damn big number, isn't it? And out of those, 9,862 are private homeowners who better have their guns stored properly.

So, what's the skinny on those violations? In total, they've found 653 bloopers on the gun storage front, and guess who's caught red-handed? Yep, you guessed it – the culprits are held accountable under Article 484 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the RK.

Wanna know what the po-po seized? They nabbed 30 units of guns, including four rifled, 22 smooth-bore, two gas, and three traumatic. Plus, they snagged 196 cartridges to go with those rifled weapons.

Now, here's the kicker – 16 criminal offenses were registered under Article 287 of the Criminal Code of the RK for violating storage laws for rifled, traumatic weapons, and their ammo. And, 36 people were hit with fines for housing illegal smooth-bore weapons and their ammo.

By the way, if you're counting at home, that's 195 folks who got slapped with fines for messing up their civilian weapon registration and reregistration processes. And 333 units of those registered weapons are currently in the hands of the law until the kinks are sorted out.

So there you have it, folks. The Almaty police are keeping the streets safe, one firearm at a time. If you're feeling generous, you can join the effort by storing your guns properly. Trust me; the cops won't be too chuffed if they have to bust down your door and rifle through your place.
