Missing Army Veteran and Father of Three Found in Washington State

In a shocking turn of events, the remains of Travis Decker and his three daughters have been discovered in a campground outside Leavenworth, Washington. The authorities involved in the search and DNA analysis include the Washington State Patrol, law enforcement agencies connected to Chelan County, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The three young girls, identified as 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker, went missing after Travis Decker failed to return his daughters to their mother's home in Wenatchee on a scheduled visit last month.

The remains found are suspected to belong to Travis Decker, whose cause of death was determined to be suffocation. The bodies of his daughters were found bound with zip ties and had plastic bags placed over their heads.

Travis Decker, an ex-soldier, served as an infantryman in the Army from March 2013 to July 2021. During his service, he received training in navigation, survival, and other skills, which may have aided him in evading authorities for over two months.

In September last year, Decker's ex-wife, Whitney Decker, petitioned to modify their parenting plan due to Decker's worsening mental health and instability. She also sought to restrict Decker from having overnight visits with their daughters until he found housing.

The U.S. Marshals Service offered a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Decker's capture. Over 100 officials from various state and federal agencies searched hundreds of square miles during the search.

The remains were found by the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, and the Washington State Patrol crime scene response team is assisting in processing the site. DNA analysis will be conducted to confirm the identity of the remains.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning, as the search for justice continues for the Decker family.
