In the frozen expanses of Siberia, our boys in blue, partnered with Rosgvardia and migration services, have wrapped up phase one of the federal op, dubbed "Illegal-2025". They did a thorough sweep of over 110 transport infrastructure sites, and let me tell you, they found a heap of migration law violations.

Now, here's the lowdown: 51 foreigners were breaking entry rules, 9 were flouting stay regulations, and 11 were working illegally, all earning their bread under the table.

The cops kicked 11 of these scofflaws out of the country, while three got booty-booted out for good. They (the law enforcement officials) also shut the gates on 33 foreigners, prohibiting them from setting foot in Russia.

Remember, we warned you earlier that Tomsk migrants were given an extension until September 10 to sort out their legal stuff.

Now, here's a wild card detail. Apparently, "Illegal-2025" ain't just about chasing foreigners. It's also clamping down on large-scale illegal crypto mining operations that are taking advantage of public resources. For instance, in Krasnoyarsk Krai, they uncovered a monstrous, clandestine mining farm disguised as an industrial plant. This place was masquerading as a non-residential building and was tapping directly into the city’s power grid without a care for legalities or securing the necessary permits. Prosecutors pulled the plug on this operation after warnings were ignored, and they're still watching this space.

The good folks of Irkutsk have also banned all mining activities as part of their energy resource conservation efforts. But, for the big-boy mining corporations like BitRiver, they got a pass to operate under controlled conditions.

So, while the primary focus is on these mining farms, foreign nationals engaging in such forbidden activities could face serious legal repercussions, ranging from fines to suspension of operations to criminal charges, depending on the recovery outcome.

All in all, "Illegal-2025" is a tough, federal crackdown aiming to shut down unlawful crypto mining in Siberia to save energy, uphold land use regulations, and maintain public safety. Anyone, regardless of nationality, caught up in these illegal schemes could feel the heat of the law.

Politics in Siberia gets a shake-up with the "Illegal-2025" operation, a general-news story that also encompasses crime-and-justice issues. This federal operation targets not only immigration law violations, but also illegal crypto mining operations, considered a significant threat to public resources, energy conservation, and land use regulations.
