Chaotic Afternoon in Colorado: FBI Investigates Suspected Terror Attack on Pro-Israel Demonstrators

FBI Probes Accusations of Violent Terrorist Incident - Authorities are currently probing a potential act of terrorism.

VRP, here's an unfolding situation in the US state of Colorado. The FBI is sniffing around an afternoon rampage on a city street in Boulder, resulting in multiple injuries. A 45-year-old, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, allegedly wreaked havoc using a DIY flamethrower, hurled incendiary devices into a crowd, and was heard shouting "Free Palestine."

The FBI acknowledged the incident as a "targeted act of violence" [2][5], while US Intelligence Coordinator Tulsi Gabbard and FBI Director Kash Patel, along with others, tagged it as a "targeted terrorist attack." US Secretary of State Marco Rubio labeled it as a terrorist attack [1] on social media, showing concern for the victims.

However, it's too premature for the Boulder police chief, Steve Redfearn, to speculate on the motive, stating, "Regrettably, the fair weather of a peaceful Sunday in downtown Boulder was shattered by this unspeakable act" [2]. The police are currently quizzing eyewitnesses to ascertain if the pro-Israel group, who were peacefully demonstrating at the scene, were intentionally targeted [2].

If you recall, a pro-Israel gathering had turned up to raise awareness for the fate of hostages steadily held in the Gaza Strip for over a year [2]. Nation's Governor, Jared Polis, also expressed condolences on social media for those affected by this hate-fueled attack [1].

As per CBS News, witnesses on the scene reported that Soliman, an Egyptian national illegally residing in the States, launched Molotov cocktails at the marchers [2]. Soliman has been taken into custody on federal hate crime charges and 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder [3]. Intriguingly, he concocted the incendiary devices himself since he wasn't able to buy a firearm due to his non-citizen status [3].

The crime scene inspection uncovered more than a dozen Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower [2]. Investigators have also found evidence showing Soliman's desire to eliminate "all Zionist people" [2]. With Homeland Security Chairman Michele C. Bachmann requesting crucial documents related to the incident [1], the FBI and local police are digging deep into this unsettling occurrence.
