Johannes Pietsch Claims Eurovision 2025 Victory

In the thrilling conclusion of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, Austria's representative, JJ, emerged as the undisputed champion with a staggering 436 points. Israel's Yuval Rafael took the second spot with 357 points, closely followed by Estonia's Tommy Cash with 356 points.

However, the European Broadcasting Union's ban on Russian participation, initiated in 2022, was a significant absence from the Eurovision stage. In response, Russia has opted to revive the Intervision television music contest, originally held from 1965 to 1977, taking place in Moscow this September.

According to Mikhail Shvydkoi, Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International cultural cooperation, 25 countries are expected to participate, with negotiations underway for artists from the United States and Europe as well.

Historically, the Intervision contest focused on countries from the Eastern bloc and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The 2025 revival appears to be following suit, with confirmed participants including Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan - alongside the host nation, Russia. Although the full list of countries hasn't been released, it's safe to expect more nations from the post-Soviet and Eurasian region to join in the music event.

Keep an eye on those calendars folks, the Intervision music contest - a blast from the past, but with a 2025 twist - is set to hit Moscow's Live Arena on September 20. Now, who's ready to rock the post-Soviet wave?

Despite Austria's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, the Russian president has decided to focus on reviving the Intervision television music contest, originally held from 1965 to 1977, taking place in Moscow this September. With negotiations underway for artists from the United States and Europe, it is expected that 25 nations will participate, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan, with more countries from the post-Soviet and Eurasian region likely to join, providing an opportunity for entertainers to showcase their musical talents.
