In a raw, emotional interview, Kathi Steininger, a renowned Austrian presenter, confesses that she was raped by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, a major American music mogul, over two decades ago. Tears well up in her eyes as she recounts the grim episode, taking a leap to break the silence surrounding sexual violence.

Steininger reveals the heart-wrenching incident that took place during her interview attempt with Combs following his concert in Vienna. Instead of the coveted interview, she experienced psychological trauma that haunts her even today.

Who is Kathi Steininger?

Born into the Austrian media landscape in the early 2000s, Kathi Steininger swiftly gained fame as a presenter on the boulevard magazine "Spotlights" and Austria 9 TV. However, her TV career came to an abrupt halt after a series of burglaries at her home and her husband's firm, compelling her to quit the industry for good. Following her divorce in 2021, Steininger underwent a fitness instructor training and ventured into promoting a diet product. Today, she resides in Vienna with her sons.

Despite the harrowing ordeal she endured, Steininger stands firm, using her courage to shed light on the nature of sexual violence and to call for justice.

"An Incident I Can't Forget"

"This experience has left a permanent scar on me," Steininger admits. "I couldn't speak about it for years and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. It was only after the surge of discourse surrounding P. Diddy that I found the strength to come forward."

Steininger alleges that the incident took place on March 28, 2000, after the concert at Vienna's "Libro Music Hall." The planned interview never materialized, leaving the young journalist in a vulnerable position.

Combs' security personnel separated Steininger from her familiar cameraman and producer, claiming it was too loud at the party for an interview. They then led her to one of the tour buses – both men corroborate this story with Puls 24.

"A Drink That Changed Everything"

On the bus, the rapper offered Steininger a drink, which she believes was spiked with date-rape drugs. After reading reports about the allegations of other victims, she realized the truth. "My drink was tampered with. I would never have gotten into bed with that man."

Combs poured the drink himself, she remembers. "I was fully conscious, but my body allowed it."

Steininger's Quest for Justice

In 2024, Steininger made contact with the US prosecutor's office investigating Diddy. The alleged assault took place in Europe, which meant that a US court rejected her direct involvement. Nevertheless, Steininger's assistance was highly valued as authorities grilled her for months.

Upon gathering crucial evidence, she filed a report in Austria. The Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office acknowledged the report, but investigations were initially suspended "pending later prosecution." This was due to the statute of limitations under Austrian law, but the case could be reassessed if Combs is convicted in the US[1][3][4].

Kathi Steininger remains steadfast in her quest for justice, regardless of the legal constraints. "It's not over - we're right in the middle of it. I want others to understand his true nature." Steininger's brave decision forms part of a wave of solidarity among the victims. After singer Cassie Ventura filed a complaint in November 2023, over 120 individuals came forward with serious allegations against Combs. In May 2025, his trial began, where he faces charges of rape, human trafficking, and organized crime[3][5].
