Kathi Steininger Recounts Alarming Encounter with P. Diddy
Austrian TV personality recounts encounter with Sean Combs (P. Diddy) - Austrian talk show host recounts encounter with Sean Combs (P. Diddy) during live broadcast discussion
In the raw and unfiltered language of truth, Kathi Steininger, an Austrian media personality, shares her harrowing tale of an alleged assault by Sean Combs, colloquially known as P. Diddy. Her heart-wrenching account came in a TV interview conducted by "Treffpunkt Österreich," where she described the event that took place 25 years ago.
As a young aspiring journalist accompanying Combs' concert in Vienna, Steininger had hoped to meet with the rapper for an interview. However, the hoped-for encounter never happened. Instead, Steininger describes struggles with psychological problems and post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the alleged assault.
Who is Kathi Steininger?
Kathi Steininger's career in the Austrian media landscape commenced in the early 2000s. She gained notoriety as the presenter of the weekly boulevard magazine "Spotlights" on Austria 9 TV. But with the closure of the station in 2012, so did Steininger's TV career. Never-the-less, events such as break-ins at her home and her then-husband's company drove Steininger to abandon television. Post-divorce in 2021, Steininger embarked upon new paths, training as a fitness instructor and promoting a diet product. She now resides in Vienna with her two sons.
"I Would Never have Consented"
The incident, according to Steininger, unfolded on March 28, 2000, following the concert at the Vienna "Libro Music Hall." In her role as a journalist, Steininger had expected a follow-up interview at the "Olympia P9" club; however, it didn't go as planned.
Combs' bodyguards reportedly separated Steininger from her cameraman and producer under the pretext of the party environment being too loud for an interview. Both men corroborated Steininger's account to Puls 24. She was led into one of the tour buses, where, suspecting the drink offered by Combs to have been spiked with date-rape drugs, she felt forced into a traumatic incident.
Confronted with recent reports about the accusations of other affected individuals, Steininger admits, "My drink was tampered with. I would never have consented." The drink was poured by Combs himself, and she was conscious, but her body allowed it.
Steininger in the US Lawsuit
In the spring of 2024, Steininger contacted the US prosecutor's office investigating Diddy. Since the alleged assault took place in Europe, a US court declined her direct involvement. Nevertheless, the authorities were appreciative of her collaboration, having questioned her for months prior.
Subsequently, Steininger filed a report in Austria. The Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office acknowledged receipt; however, the investigation was temporarily suspended "pending later prosecution." The reasoning behind this decision was based on the fact that, while the act has expired in Austria, it could be reevaluated if Combs is convicted in the USA.
"It's not over — we're in the middle of it," Steininger asserts, emphasizing the importance of exposing "the true nature of this man." Her public declaration joins the wave of support amongst victims. After singer Cassie Ventura filed a complaint in November 2023, over 120 additional victims came forward with serious allegations against Combs. In May 2025, the trial against the musician commenced, with Combs facing charges of rape, human trafficking, and organized crime.
