Seems he couldn't get his shoes out of the pedals, causing a fall that resulted in a pelvic fracture. He was hobbling around on crutches for weeks, which wasn't ideal, but hey - even superheroes have off days.
Now, back to that helicopter ride we mentioned. Pröll was airlifted to Horn General Hospital, showing that no matter what life throws at him, he's got the grit to keep pedaling.
