Paris FC Qualifies for UEFA Women's Champions League Group Stage

Paris FC has secured a place in the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League, following their 2-0 victory against Austria Wien in Austria on Thursday. This qualification marks a significant milestone for the team, as they aim to make a strong showing in the competition this season.

The group stage, introduced this season following the format of the men's C1, is the final stage of the competition. Paris FC will join one of the favourites of the competition, Lyon, in the group stage. The draw for the group stage, which will determine the opponents and the group that Paris FC will compete in, is set to take place on Friday at 12:00.

This season's group stage consists of eight groups, each containing four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the competition. Paris FC's next matches in the group stage will be against the teams they are drawn against in the draw on Friday.

Paris FC's qualification for the group stage comes after a tough battle against Austria Wien. The team was held to a draw in the first leg (0-0), but managed to turn things around in the second leg, with goals from captain Clara Mateo in the second half (67', 73').

Last season, Paris FC faced a difficult challenge in the same round, being heavily beaten by Manchester City. However, this year they have managed to escape the Viennese trap and secure a place in the group stage.

With Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon also qualifying for the group stage, it promises to be an exciting season for French football in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The draw on Friday will set the stage for the upcoming matches, as the teams prepare to battle it out for a place in the knockout stages.
