School Security and Gun Laws Tightened in Austria After School Shooting

- Mandatory counseling sessions for school dropouts to identify potential dangers early on.
- Improved data sharing between authorities to respond more promptly to warning signs.
Last week, a 21-year-old Austrian killed 10 people at his former school before taking his own life. The motive remains unclear. Media reports suggest that the perpetrator had posted a school photo on the platform X and used the profiles pictures of the Columbine shooters as his own before the incident. These claims, however, have not been confirmed by the police.
