In the world of period drama, the much-anticipated adaptation of Jane Austen's timeless novel, Pride and Prejudice, is set to grace our screens. This six-part series, currently in production in the UK, boasts an impressive cast and a promising team behind the scenes.

Leading the ensemble is Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, the fiercely independent heroine of the story. Corrin, known for her captivating portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix's The Crown, is sure to bring a fresh and intriguing take to the iconic role.

Joining her is Jack Lowden as the brooding Mr. Darcy. Lowden, who previously starred in Mary Queen of Scots, is set to breathe new life into the beloved character.

The Bennet family is rounded out by Olivia Colman as the anxious and overbearing Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as the wise and patient Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as the sweet and innocent Jane Bennet, Hope Ameen Mary as one of the Bennet sisters, Hollie Atyeo as Kitty Bennet, and Malbika Kochhar as the impulsive Lydia Bennet.

Notable additions to the cast include Jamie Demetriou as the bumbling Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as the charming Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as the enigmatic Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg.

The series is directed by Euros Lyn, known for his work on Heartstopper, and the screenplay is written by British journalist Dolly Alderton. Alderton, who has already adapted her memoir Everything I Know About Love into a series, promises a faithful retelling of Austen's 1813 novel.

Recently, the first image from the series was released, featuring all five Bennet sisters and their mother huddled together. With production well underway, fans of Austen's work are eagerly awaiting the release of this highly anticipated adaptation.

In the midst of this exciting production, Emma Corrin declares, “I'm not gonna let you go. I'm not gonna let you go." as she prepares to step into the role of Elizabeth Bennet, noteworthy also for her performance in movies-and-tv such as Netflix's The Crown. Similarly, Jack Lowden, renowned for his turns in Mary Queen of Scots and other productions, expresses his determination with these same words, hinting at his anticipated portrayal of Mr. Darcy.
