August will witness the resurgence of the production of "Almost, Maine"
In the heart of Cebu, the University of the Philippines Cebu Performing Arts Hall will be illuminated by the Northern Lights as Little Boy Productions brings back the romantic comedy "Almost, Maine" on August 16, 2025.
This restaging promises a fresh take on the play's whimsical storytelling, with two new cast members, Tara Cabaero and John Hanlon, joining a mix of emerging and seasoned local talents.
Tara Cabaero, a Silliman University graduate and theater educator in Singapore, is not only a part of the cast but also a familiar face to Little Boy Productions, having previously appeared in their production, SubTXT.
John Hanlon, known for his work in EO Optical, Pickup Coffee, Globe, and ABS-CBN's The Iron Heart, is making his professional theater debut in Almost, Maine. Prior to his stage debut, Hanlon found his passion for the theater after watching Red.
The cast of Almost, Maine includes Claire Codilla, Jolu Escano, Maxim Ilagan, Nelson Judaya, Chloe Palang, Robert Palomo, Thomas Pua, Jean Mari Saraña, John Sitchon, and Yesha Suralta, in addition to Hanlon and Saraña. The new cast members in this Cebu restaging are Nyegs Abayon, Yalena Ysabel Achacoso, Rhea Fantonial Bautista, Jay Chan II, and Yesha Suralta.
Almost, Maine consists of nine vignettes that explore various aspects of love in a mythical town under the Northern Lights. Since its Off-Broadway debut, Almost, Maine has become one of the most frequently staged works in the world, making this restaging an exciting event for theater enthusiasts.
Little Boy Productions emphasizes that the cast is all-Cebuano, highlighting both emerging talents and experienced local actors in this feel-good romantic play.
