Beyond this initial friendly, a closed-door test match against Pisa, an Italian team, is also part of Pisa's German tour and will feature Wagner's Augsburg squad.
In their opening preseason test match, FC Augsburg demonstrated a dominating performance, securing a convincing 9:0 victory over TSV Gersthofen. The goals were spread throughout the team, with Philipp Tietz scoring the first in the third minute, followed by Henri Koudossou in the sixth, Kyliane Dong in the 43rd, and Franz Xaver Bleicher in the 49th. Dion Beljo added the eighth goal in the 75th minute, and Tim Schnitzer scored two more in the 56th and 87th minutes.
Many young players were given the opportunity to showcase their skills in the second half, as Wagner made substitutions. Aiman Dardari also contributed to the team's impressive scoreline, scoring the fifth goal in the 53rd minute. The next test match for FC Augsburg will be against FC Memmingen, although the date and time have yet to be announced. The team will be hoping to continue their impressive form and build momentum ahead of the new season.
