Auditioning for Saturday Night Live: An Inside Look at the Selection Process for Studio 8H in New York City
Get ready for a new season of Saturday Night Live (SNL) as it kicks off on October 4, with Bad Bunny & Doja Cat as the first guests. If you're eager to be a part of the live audience, here's what you need to know.
The SNL Ticket Lottery
The SNL Ticket Lottery took place from August 1, 2025, at 12:00 ET to August 31, 2025, at 23:59 ET. However, the exact date for this year's lottery has yet to be announced. Entries received before or after the deadline will not be considered.
To participate, interested participants must email [email protected] with their full name and a reason why they want to be in the audience. Please note that entry does not guarantee tickets.
Standby Tickets
If you miss the lottery, don't worry! Standby tickets will be distributed at 12:01 ET on the Saturday of the show. You can also make online reservations for standby tickets. The link for SNL standby ticket reservations becomes active on Thursday at 10:00 ET of the show week.
In-Person Requirements
If you're lucky enough to win the lottery, your entire group must be present in person at the NBC Studios 49th Street tent standby line between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on the Friday before the show. ID is required, and reservations are non-transferable.
Cast Changes
This season, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, and Michael Longfellow have left the SNL cast. However, the show welcomes new cast members Ben Marshall, Tommy Brennan, Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska.
Upcoming Guests
Amy Poehler and Role Model will appear on SNL on October 11, and Sabrina Carpenter will be the guest on October 18.
Other Opportunities
For those who can't make it to the lottery or standby tickets, the NBC Studios Tour allows guests to visit the locations where their favourite shows are made, including SNL. Tours must be booked about a month in advance.
Remember, no one under 16 is allowed, and ID will be required. So, gear up for an exciting season of SNL and good luck with the ticket lottery!
