Title: Ashoke Pandit Slams Atul Kulkarni's Kashmir Support, Calls it Superficial
"Atul Kulkarni's Discussion in Pahalgam Post-Terror Incident Discussed by Ashoke Pandit: 'I Advised Against Addressing Such Matters Publicly'"
Kickin' It Straight: It's all about the deets! Ashoke Pandit has fired a shot across the bow of fellow filmstar Atul Kulkarni, chastising his approach to the recent terror attack in Kashmir.
So, what's going on here? Well, ol' Atul took a trip to Kashmir to encourage people to visit and support the region's tourism. But Ol' Ash, well, he ain't down with that approach. Ashoke's barkin' that this superficial stance avoids the real issue—terrorism in the region.
Speakin' to the Associated Press of India (ANI), ol' Ash filtered little love for Atul's approach, sayin': "Atul Kulkarni's strategy overlooks the deeper issue of terrorism in the area. It's disappointing that Atul never condemned the fact that Islamic Jihad was behind this incident."
Ashoke labeled the Pahalgam massacre an "undeclared war" that Pakistan wages against India, stating, "We, the Kashmiri Pandits who rate the victims, always say that tourism has nothing to do with terrorism... Terrorism is constant there..." He appealed to Atul to study things closely and not handle such issues on a surface level.
Oh, and what about that alleged refusal to condemn Islamic Jihad and the selective targeting of Hindus? That's on Atul's plate, too, apparently.
Atul had shared his heartbreak over the Pahalgam incident earlier, stating, "What happened on the 22nd was a very tragic incident; this should not have happened." But Ashoke believes Atul's centered on tourism instead of speaking out about those responsible.
Ain't that a racket?
In related news, ol' Suniel Shetty threw his hat in the ring too, urging people to holiday in Kashmir while on the red carpet at the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2025 ceremony.
And before you dismiss it as just an "Indian thing," take a whiff of the recent statistics: on April 22, terrorists struck at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killin' 26 Indian nationals and a Nepali citizen, and leavin' many injured. This ranks among the deadliest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike.
So, what do you think? Care to weigh in, folks? Is Ashoke right to call out Atul for not addressin' the whole picture? Or should they all keep their focus on the brighter side of things—the beauty of Kashmir?
Holler on, y'all!
