Dakota Johnson, the Hollywood dynasty's rising star, attended the premiere of her latest film, "Splitsville," at the Grove in Los Angeles. Accompanying her was her mother, Melanie Griffith, who added a touch of glamour in a cream-colored suit, paired with beige sneakers and fingerless white lace gloves.

Johnson, who grew up in a Hollywood dynasty, began her acting career with a minor role in the 1999 film "Crazy in Alabama," which starred her mother Melanie Griffith and was directed by Antonio Banderas, her then-stepfather. Although this was her first film appearance, her official acting debut in a credited role is often noted as a small part in "The Social Network" (2010).

Johnson's major breakthrough to global stardom came in 2015 when she was cast as Anastasia Steele, the female lead in the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation of E.L. James's best-selling erotic novel. Despite the film receiving largely negative reviews, Johnson's performance was praised, and the movie was a massive commercial success, grossing around $570 million worldwide. She reprised her role for the sequels Fifty Shades Darker (2017) and Fifty Shades Freed (2018), with the entire trilogy earning more than $1 billion globally.

In "Splitsville," Johnson stars alongside Adria Arjona and Kyle Marvin, playing out the comedic dramas of two couples and their friendships. Johnson's hair was styled straight and classically for the event, complementing her form-fitting, sleeveless silver metallic dress.

Two years after her breakthrough role in Fifty Shades of Grey, Johnson signed with the William Morris Agency for acting. Since then, she has expanded her filmography to include diverse roles that showcase her versatility, notably starring alongside Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch in Black Mass (2015), and working with director Luca Guadagnino on A Bigger Splash (2015) and the horror remake Suspiria (2018).

Johnson has taken the "Nepo Baby" label in stride, explaining her views on the topic during an interview on the "Today" show last year. She revealed in another interview with British Elle in May that she didn't want to go to college, instead choosing to pursue her acting career.

"Splitsville," directed by Michael Angelo Covino, hits US theaters this Friday. Johnson has expressed interest in producing roles and has ambitions to direct in the future.
