Vitor Nascimento, a 38-year-old Brazilian man from São Paulo, made his way to Rio for Lady Gaga's free concert on Copacabana Beach, joining over 2 million exultant fans.
Before the official announcement of the concert date, Vitor and his friends had already reserved hotel rooms, hoping to secure a spot.
Together with countless other spectators, they listened to Lady Gaga rehearse and lingered on the beach grounds long after the show.

Lady Gaga was set to perform in Rio for a free show in May - upon hearing the news early in the year, Vitor and his crew of seven friends from São Paulo didn't hesitate. They booked their flights and hotel rooms without delay, eager to attend the beach party at Copacabana.
Having traveled there last year to witness Madonna's concert against the picturesque backdrop of the night sea, Vitor recognized the allure of the event. Like Madonna, Lady Gaga is a prominent American artist promoting LGBTQ+ rights.
Their weekend had been meticulously planned.
Even before the concert date was confirmed, they booked four weekends of hotel accommodation
To guarantee lodging, Vitor and his friends booked four weekends at a Rio hotel in March. While May was only a vague time frame for the event, the specific date was yet to be announced. Their approach was to cancel the three unnecessary bookings once the exact date was confirmed. As soon as May 3rd was set, they finalized their flights and canceled the unwanted hotel reservations.
They arrived in Rio a few days earlier, taking advantage of the national holiday on May 1st. Given that transport and entrance controls would be crowded, they opted to stay near the beach and walk to the concert venue instead. They also decided to drink moderately to minimize bathroom breaks.
They attended Lady Gaga's soundcheck at the beach
At 8 pm, Lady Gaga commenced her rehearsal. Positioned near the stage, Vitor and his companions found themselves away from the crowd but still able to observe. The crowd swelled as eager fans ran from the streets toward the performance. To their delight, the rehearsal was almost as magical as the actual concert the following day.
When the time came for the main event, they left their hotel at 6 pm and joined the masses on the beach. They stood near the third screen transmitting the stage show to the audience. The pop icon appeared on stage at 10 pm, and Vitor and his friends, along with many others, sang and danced on the sand and next to the waves for two and a half hours.
It was nothing short of incredible. Overcome with emotion, fans clad as Lady Gaga broke down in tears of joy. Nearly all the attendees around Vitor were members of the LGBTQ+ community or allies. It was a memorable moment felt across the globe as violence and discrimination against this group continue to rise.
After the performance, a DJ played at the after-party until the beach was cleared and Vitor, exhausted but fulfilled, returned to his hotel and collapsed into bed at 3 am.
Vitor spent approximately 600 euros on his Lady Gaga weekend in Rio
His weekend in Rio marked a significant milestone for Vitor, leaving him with priceless memories of an unforgettable escapade. Due to careful planning, Vitor and his friends managed to secure accommodations for the concert, flights, parties, meals, and drinks, spending around 600 euros.
The city of Rio benefited from the tourism boost, with the concert being a crucial factor in promoting Rio and igniting online discussion. Rumors have been swirling about a possible performance from Beyoncé next year, and should it occur, Vitor is prepared for another adventure with his friends in the vibrant city of Rio.
