The Rotenburg Fire Department is preparing for a demanding challenge as they strive to break a world record currently held by the Willingen Fire Department. On Sunday, 21st September, at 14:30, the team 'Feuerwehr Rotenburg' will attempt to complete the 10km firefighter relay on the Highwalk in Rotenburg, a challenging course that features a steep incline at the end and reaches heights of up to 60 meters.

The event involves five firefighters competing in a relay race, each covering a distance of 2km while carrying up to 25kg of equipment, including helmet, boots, protective clothing, and breathing apparatus. The Highwalk in Rotenburg, Germany's second longest suspension bridge with a length of 617 meters, will serve as the route for this grueling challenge.

The previous record for the 10km firefighter relay was set on the Skywalk in Willingen, where a team completed it in over an hour. However, the Rotenburg Fire Department is confident that they can finish the run in under an hour, making history in the process.

The Rotenburg Fire Department has been training rigorously for this world record attempt, ensuring they are well-prepared for the physical and mental challenges that lie ahead. The steep incline at the end of the Highwalk, in particular, presents a significant challenge, but the team is determined to overcome it.

The world record attempt for the 10km firefighter relay run is a competition between the Rotenburg and Willingen Fire Departments, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the teams as they push their limits in the name of camaraderie and competition.

Whether you're a firefighter, a sports enthusiast, or simply someone who admires a good challenge, this world record attempt is sure to be an inspiring event. Come and witness history in the making on the Highwalk in Rotenburg on Sunday, 21st September, at 14:30.
