Attack in Slavyansk-na-Kubani leaves a man wounded by Ukrainian forces

In the past week, the peaceful town of Slaviansk-on-Kuban, Russia, has been under siege from a series of drone attacks.

On August 9, the head of the Slaviansky District, Roman Siniakovskiy, reported a drone attack at the intersection of Shkolnaya and Protichnaya Streets. The incident left a woman injured and debris scattered across the area. Remarkably, the woman declined hospitalization after receiving necessary assistance.

This unfortunate event marked one of several drone attacks that have plagued Slaviansk-on-Kuban, causing multiple damages, injuries, and infrastructure disruptions. Among the casualties, a resident was injured, while three others sustained shrapnel wounds. Private houses were damaged, and fires broke out near railroad tracks and dry grass due to falling drone debris.

On August 12-13, more drone debris fell in multiple courtyards in Slaviansk-on-Kuban, damaging buildings and causing property damage such as broken windows, damaged roofs, canopies, outbuildings, and cut electrical wires. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident.

On August 13, a drone attack hit the oil refinery in Slaviansk-on-Kuban, causing a fire on a Gazelle van on the refinery’s premises. Despite the incident, no casualties were reported, and the fire was localized. This refinery has been a target of multiple attacks over the past year and a half.

Another drone attack reportedly caused a fire at a military facility in Slaviansk-on-Kuban, inflicting additional damage. Related drone debris injuries also occurred in the nearby Krasnodar region.

The aftermath of these attacks has resulted in internet outages in Slaviansk-on-Kuban due to damage to electrical wiring. Emergency services continue to work diligently to restore the infrastructure.

These attacks have not been limited to Slaviansk-on-Kuban, as additional drone attacks or attempted strikes have been reported in nearby regions such as Volgograd and the Bryansk region. This pattern suggests a broader operation involving the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting Russian industrial and military targets.

In response to the escalating situation, the governor has spoken out about the new damages in Kuban due to the Ukrainian attack. Medical personnel have been dispatched to the scene to provide assistance as needed.

The people of Slaviansk-on-Kuban remain resilient in the face of these attacks, demonstrating a strong spirit and determination to rebuild and carry on with their daily lives.
