Atlanta's Historic St. Patrick's Day Parade Returns With Music and Tradition

Atlanta's St. Patrick's Day Parade returns this weekend as one of the city's oldest traditions. Dating back to 1858, it remains the longest-running event of its kind in the area. This year's celebration will fill Midtown with music, dance, and colourful floats on Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The parade will feature around 100 groups, including pipe bands, dance troupes, and community organisations. Many participants travel from across Georgia and neighbouring states, keeping the event lively with thousands taking part. Historically, the number of entries has ranged between 80 and 120 each year.

Those unable to attend in person can watch the parade live online. Coverage will stream on the official website's TV channel and ANF from noon until 1:30 p.m. A re-stream will also air later on ANF+ at 7 p.m. After the parade, the celebration continues at Colony Square. The 'Luck of the Square' event offers live music, food, drinks, and family-friendly activities for attendees to enjoy.

The parade has been a staple of Atlanta's cultural calendar for over 160 years. This weekend's festivities will again bring together performers, spectators, and local businesses. Live streams and evening re-broadcasts ensure the event reaches an even wider audience.
