Athletic Person Jonathan Isaac Expresses Opinion: 'Biological Males Shouldn't Compete in Female Sports'
Jonathan Isaac, the Orlando Magic star, has once again made waves, this time for his stance on transgender athletes participating in female sports. Known for his unwavering beliefs, Isaac shared his thoughts when the White House celebrated "Transgender Day of Visibility" last year.
Isaac, who had earlier decided to stand instead of knee for the National Anthem during the 2020 Bubble, isn't afraid to speak his mind. In a tweet opposing the government's agenda, he wrote, "They want you to hate! This helps no one and only promotes division. They know exactly what they are doing.. we should be angry but shouldn't lose the spirit of what tomorrow means! Don't lose focus. Because He is risen there is hope for all."
Now, in a candid interview with Fox News, Isaac delves deeper into his stand on the issue. "It's a tough situation," he begins, "There's an ethic... there's something I believe is true. I believe that men and women are different."
The 27-year-old goes on to explain, "I believe that men do not belong in women's sports, that's a fundamental belief I hold. For reasons, one I'm a guy and I can understand the differences and advantages that we have. But at the same time, there is a reality of the situation."
Isaac acknowledges the complexity of humanity but draws a line in the sand when it comes to fairness in sports. "There are people who are not in sports who are transgender (who) are trying to live their life the best way they know how," he acknowledges. However, he feels that catering to the feelings of one group might trample on the feelings of women, compromising the fairness and competitiveness of women's sports.
In conclusion, Isaac states, "That's where I say, 'OK, that's where I believe this is wrong' and I would be willing to put my voice to it."
