Brandon Boston Jr. Joins EuroLeague Champions Fenerbahce
After four seasons in the NBA, Brandon Boston Jr. has made a move to Europe, signing a one-year contract with Turkish basketball powerhouse Fenerbahce Istanbul. This marks Boston's first professional move outside the NBA.
Boston, who was drafted 51st overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2021 NBA Draft, spent his first three seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. He signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans last October, but his contract was converted into a standard NBA contract during the 2024–25 season.
Over his NBA career, Boston played in 147 games, averaging 7.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 41% from the field and 33% from three-point range. In the most recent 2024–25 NBA season with the Pelicans, Boston showed a significant improvement, averaging 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 42 games.
Fenerbahce's roster for the 2025-26 season also includes other NBA alums, such as center Khem Birch and guard Wade Baldwin IV. The signing of Boston aims to fill gaps left by departing players and bolster Fenerbahce's roster to maintain their competitiveness domestically and in European competition.
Before his NBA career, Boston was a top high school prospect, earning McDonald's All-American honors and being named California Mr. Basketball in 2020. This move to Europe will be his first time competing overseas.
In 42 games (10 starts) with the New Orleans Pelicans, Boston averaged career highs of 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 23.6 minutes per contest. Throughout his NBA career, he also posted a career-high of 10 rebounds in a game against Oklahoma City and a career-high of 10 assists in a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Boston shot a career-best 43.6% from the field and 35% from 3-point range with the New Orleans Pelicans. His shooting percentages were 39.6% from the floor and 31.3% from deep in his NBA career overall.
