Fined for Prank Call During NFL Draft 🏈💸

Atlanta Falcons have felt the wrath of the NFL, coughing up a hefty $250,000 fine, and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich's wallet took a hit too, to the tune of $100,000. All this drama kicked off due to a wild prank call made during the draft, involving Ulbrich's son, Jax.

The NFL confirmed the fines mid-week, dishing out the penalties for the Falcons and Ulbrich's role in the mishap that leaked confidential info distributed to the club before the draft.

But the Falcons aren't sweating it; they've accepted the league's disciplinary measures. In a statement, they acknowledged their responsibilities and cooperated with the league throughout the investigations. They also promised to reinforce adherence to their security protocols, on and off premises.

Jax Ulbrich, the 21-year-old prankster, managed to get hold of Shedeur Sanders' draft contact number while browsing an open iPad at his parents' home. Starting off as a harmless prank, Jax passed the number onto a friend who made the call to Sanders during the draft. Sanders, a talented quarterback from Colorado, was expected to be a first-round pick but ended up being selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns.

However, Jeff Ulbrich was in the dark about the prank until after it all went down. The Falcons had already offered their sincerest apologies to Sanders and his family long before. Jax Ulbrich also took to social media to express regret for his actions.

The NFL is currently digging into a series of prank calls made during the draft, with Sanders' prank call reportedly standing alone and not part of a bigger scheme. Several other players, including Mason Graham, Tyler Warren, Kyle McCord, and Chase Lundt, have also reported receiving prank calls. Offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. and undrafted wide receiver Isaiah Bond have gone public with similar experiences too.

The league is now investigating the broader issue, trying to figure out how players' numbers got exposed and how to enhance privacy and security measures for future drafts. 🕵️‍♂️🔒
