Real Betis Faces Challenges as Iker Losada and Isco Suffer Injuries

Real Betis is dealing with a double injury blow after Iker Losada and Isco picked up injuries in their pre-season friendly against Malaga on August 11, 2025.

Iker Losada sustained an ankle contusion very late in the game, which forced him off the field. Initial assessments showed no serious damage, and he was expected to resume team training shortly after. However, the extent of his injury is not yet clear.

Meanwhile, Isco's injury is more severe. He fractured his fibula during the Trofeo Costa del Sol match against Malaga, and he is expected to be out for two to three months. This injury will have a significant impact on Betis' squad depth and tactics.

Bartra, a Betis defender, expressed concern about a late tackle on Iker Losada at the end of the match. He also criticized Malaga's attitude and that of previous rivals in friendlies for late tackles.

Iker Losada had been included in the squad and got some minutes during the preseason. He came on to play the last half-hour of the game, replacing Mawuli. However, he had to be helped by Fran Vieites as he was limping in the La Rosaleda mixed zone.

While Losada’s injury required him to leave the pitch, it does not appear to be severe enough to cause a significant or prolonged absence. He was listed among several players who needed fitness tests ahead of matches but was not confirmed as out for extended periods.

Betis is dealing with more notable injuries at the moment, such as Isco's fractured fibula. The club will be hoping for a quick recovery for both players as they prepare for the new season.
