** winning streak continues **

It's another pole position for Oscar Piastri at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix after a blinding show in qualifying on Saturday, May 17th, at the Imola circuit. The dude held his own against Max Verstappen at the end of the session and snatched the fastest time. The McLaren driver will start alongside the Dutchman and ahead of a fighty British row featuring George Russell in Mercedes and his teammate Lando Norris.

The Saturday session was a wild ride, thanks to some dramatic crashes in Q1. Poor Yuki Tsunoda flipped his ride after hitting a kerb, while Franco Colapinto suffered a wallop for Alpine. Luckily, both drivers walked away unscathed – Tsunoda has outgrown the Red Bull squad, replaced by Jack Doohan's substitute, Franco.

Ferrari lags behind

French drivers Isack Hadjar (9th, Racing Bulls) and Pierre Gasly (10th, Alpine) got themselves a spot in Q3, but it was a painful session for Ferrari. Charles Leclerc (11th) and Lewis Hamilton (12th) couldn't compete and had to swallow their disappointment in front of the home crowd.

"It hurts – we can't expect a miracle every Sunday, we need to improve. We're not at the level we should be," Leclerc lamented on Canal+. Ouch, sorry to hear that, buddy. Esteban Ocon, on the other hand, was booted in Q1 (18th, Haas).
